Ad focuses on Medicaid fraud and how to protect hardworking Missourians

Jefferson City, MO – Chris Koster’s campaign for Attorney General today announced the release of its second television ad of the general election campaign. The thirty-second ad, “Medicaid Fraud,” began airing today, and continues a statewide television campaign that will continue through Election Day.

The ad features Chris Koster directly addressing the issue of Medicaid fraud, which accounts for approximately $600 million stolen annually from the state of Missouri. Koster will make aggressive prosecution of unscrupulous Medicaid providers a top priority as Attorney General.

In 2006, Koster chaired the Senate Special Committee to Investigate Medicaid Fraud, and fought to require that fraudulent Medicaid providers serve extended prison sentences without the possibility of parole. Koster’s opponent opposed the requirement.

KOSTER: 600 million dollars -- that’s what’s stolen each year from Missouri’s Medicaid system by crooked corporate executives.
