The Missouri Attorney General's Office files a lawsuit against the City of Lanagan. The lawsuit is an attempt to clean up the city's water supply.
The City of Lanagan has had radionuclide contamination in their water since 2009. City leaders agree there are problems with their water and they have no intention of fighting the lawsuit.
A McDonald County circuit judge signed a consent agreement between Lanagan and the Attorney General's Office. It lays out a compliance schedule for hiring an engineer, hooking up to the City of Anderson's water supply, and reporting to the state upon completion.
City Attorney Bill Weber says they are seeking aid from the "Midwest Assistance Program" to help with financing."The Alderman and the Mayor all understood what this judgment meant. All agreed to the case being filed and agreed to the schedule in the judgment.
